How to Prevent Affairs in Your Marriage
By Chris Perkins
Don't stop dating
Keep going out together and invest in great quality time together so as to keep your marriage fresh and alive. Don't be afraid to be creative in what you do together and keep talking about great things to do on your dates. During these times, give your partner your utmost attention and set aside any thing that may get in the way of them on your schedule by making them a top priority in your life.
Hang out with great couples
What are the people like who you hang out with? Do they encourage extramarital affairs or infidelity in relationships? If so don't be afraid to walk away from those friendships and seek out more positive relationships with successful couples who take their relationships seriously.
Resolve your tensions
When you have an argument, make sure you spend time resolving your issues in a sensible and loving way with the best of intentions for your marriage in mind. Don't keep tensions burning when you go to bed, and look to resolve them before the night is out in positive way.
Take time to listen
Create space for your partner to talk, giving them time to express how they are feeling about issues that affect them. Show you care by listening attentively and encouragingly, and give advice sparingly and only when they ask you. By listening to them, it goes a long way to showing how much you care and are interested in them.
Recognize the warning signs
Know when things are not good between you and do your best to counter these to stop them developing in to major issues in your relationship. For instance, are you spending a limited amount of time with your partner? Are they spending too much time out with friends without you? Are they constantly working late at the office?
Don't think the grass is greener
Remember you married your partner for a reason, and it’s important to remember what you have together despite the minor things that might irritate so that when other temptations come along, you don't give them a second thought because you are working to cultivate to great marriage with your partner.
