Find Someone the basics
By Love and Relationships Staff
www.findsomeone.co.nz is owned and operated by the same company as TradeMe. They claim on their home page that they are “New Zealand’s largest premium dating site”. Looking around the site there are definitely a whole load of people signed up and looking to meet others.
A quick search of males listed on the site between age 25 and 35 in Auckland revealed that there were 1098 (23rd April 2010). Girls of the same age bracket totalled 1061. In the age bracket 45-55 there were 581 males and 687 females. Not much of a man drought on Find Someone, and plenty of potentials to send smiles to.
How it works;
A. Join up
There are a number of different membership options on Find Someone.
1. Free profile
This allows you to;
- Set up a profile and post 2 photos
- Send up to 10 smiles per day
- Look at other people’s profiles
2. Gold Member (cost of between $21.90 and $29.90, depending on the term)
A paid subscription has the added features of;
- Send messages
- Send as many smiles as you like
- Access all photos of Gold Members
There are a few other terms and conditions but this is the basics.
B. Create a profile
You give yourself a funky name (usually not your own name, and usually not as suggestive as Pussy galore) and create a profile about yourself, including such things as;
A blurb about yourself; It seems pretty much everybody on the site describes themselves as loving to have fun and having an outgoing personality.
Demographic info; including age, height, religion, education, income, whether you smoke and really important stuff like whether you want to reproduce. You don’t have to disclose some of this info (apart from the real basics like gender and age).
Information about your preferences; including Food, Hobbies, Travel and holidays, Going out, Music, Books and magazines, TV and movies, arts and theatre and various views on the world.
Photos; obviously this is the most important. You can load up a few photos.
C. Meet people
The first step to meeting someone is trawling through the hundreds of photos, and sending a smile or a message (messages only for Gold Members) to a photo and profile you like. Hopefully they will feel the love also and make contact back. Obviously it’s up to you what happens from here.
Go well.
