Personalising Your Wedding To Make It Memorable
By Love and Relationships Staff
Weddings are important days. Although many people wish to have an extravagant and flashy wedding, it is not something that everyone can afford. However, this does not mean that the wedding cannot be memorable. Far from it.
Despite what your wedding planner says, weddings are not made memorable by how much money you spend. Rather they are made by how well you spend the money that you have set aside for the wedding. It is very much possible to have a stringent budget but still be able to pull off a wedding that you, your guests and your friends will remember for years to come. The key is to make it your own. The following are some areas that you can consider personalizing;
1. Invitation:
Personalised invitation notes can make the wedding experience more familiar and friendly. If you can pay close attention to these by including anecdotes and inside jokes then the guest would feel especially honoured and taken care of even before he or she comes to the wedding.
2. Seating plans:
You can establish seating plans for your guests for dinner. These seating plans need to be well thought out and your professional wedding planner is not the ideal person to create the seating plan. The seating plan at any ceremony needs to take into account the personalities of the guests, with the aim being to have likeminded people sit together so that they can enjoy the event. Therefore make sure you think carefully, and don’t delegate this task to anyone else.
3. Menus, cutlery and napkins:
Initials, logos, monograms can be used to personalise the wedding. Putting such symbols on items such as menus, cutlery and napkins would make your guests think that you have paid attention to detail and would also impart a personal touch to the whole proceeding.
4. But 1-3 are just the start:
Stamp your own personaility on the wedding. This can be done in a large number of ways:
- musical choice
- innovative vows
- activities to keep the guests entertained and participating in the event
So remember, this is your day. Make it your own, and your guests will remember it.
